MEET THE
OWNER
Hi, I’m jenna sicilian.
As founder and owner of Salacia Skin Studio, my aim is to combine aesthetics with other holistic modalities in a healing space, to bring you a nourishing and relaxing menu of treatments.
In March of 2021, I came to Seattle for my thirtieth birthday. I fell in love with the lush landscape, the grey, foggy mist, the evergreens, and the moody, rocky beaches. I couldn't believe how beautiful the PNW was and that it had taken me this long to experience it.
Within months, I moved to Seattle, where I worked as a nurse while I got my footing. In 2022, I spent some time in Los Angeles and southern California. I was so inspired by how advanced their skincare treatments were, and how they incorporated wellness into their beauty regimens, like sound bowls during facials and crystals to help open energetic blockages. I aim to bring that healing energy to Salacia.
My primary focus is on sculpting facial massage and buccal massage to non-surgically lift and plump the skin, smooth lines, and encourage lymphatic drainage for a glowing, supple complexion and a natural alternative to fillers and neurotoxins.
My credentials include a BSN from Le Moyne College, Esthetician license from Elaine Sterling 1000 hour program, and 10 hour buccal massage training from Kosha Spa owner Anastasia Vladimirova.
THE STORY OF
SALACIA
In ancient Roman mythology, Salacia (sə-LAY-shə) was the female divinity of the sea, worshipped as the goddess of salt water who presided over the depths of the ocean.
The god Neptune wanted to marry Salacia, but she was in great awe of her distinguished suitor, and to preserve her virginity, she managed to glide out of his sight, and hid from him in the Atlantic Ocean. The grieving Neptune sent a dolphin to look for her and persuade the fair nymph to return and share his throne. Salacia agreed to marry Neptune, and the King of the Deep was so overjoyed at these good tidings that the dolphin was awarded a place in the heavens, where he now forms a well known constellation, Delphinus.
Salacia is represented as a beautiful nymph, crowned with seaweed, either enthroned beside Neptune or driving with him in a pearl shell chariot drawn by dolphins, sea-horses or other fabulous creatures of the deep, and attended by Tritons and Nereids. She is dressed in queenly robes and has nets in her hair.
